Through individual sessions, caseworkers help clients to identify career options, develop resumes, practice interviewing techniques and link their skills and interests with leading local employers and/or trade schools or colleges.
The agency also features a workshop entitled, “Workplace Survival Skills” that provides an interactive way to learn about and practice workplace skills. Topics covered include: communication skills, conflict resolution, professional etiquette and more. The workshop lasts between 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Community Action Southwest receives a grant from Chevron to help support clients enrolled in career development services to help them financially address barriers that may be keeping them from achieving their self-sufficiency goals.
